DIY: Creative Mermaid Costume

I've been searching for Mermaid costumes online and at the mall but they were expensive. So I thought it is better to make my own version.

Here are the materials I used and how I constructed them:

Glue gun and Glue stick

Used or Old clothes - I used my daughter's old tube blouse because it is stretchy I don't need to measure it to fit my daughter's waist.

Tulle - cut into strips for the tail

Recycled bags - I used my extra bags I am using when going to grocery store.

I cut them into small pieces that looks like this:

Stick them together using the glue gun and glue stick. Stick all the green pieces around the cloth. Stick the glue at the bottom of the cloth that serves as the tail of the mermaid skirt.

And here's my finished product. My daughter loves her new costume. She wore this on her 2nd Birthday with a Bubble Guppies Theme.

Bubble Guppies Theme

Enjoy browsing what I made for my daughter's 2nd Birthday.

Here's a simple invitation I made.

Bubble Station

Bubble Bottles - I bought a bubble bottle from the supermarket. Took off the label and replaced it with my own layout sticker. Also you can see the black box from behind, it is a bubble machine.

Favor - Same with those message in a bottle favors. I colored the san with orange and made star origami to add decor inside the bottle. Then add a strip with my message for the guests.

Sweets

I separated sweets or desserts. Here you can see the cake, a rice cake, fruit salad, candies, and marshmallows.

Cake - Same with Bubble Guppies cake from the internet made by a friend.
Favor Candies - I made a fishing net instead of using typical loot bags.

Foods

Spoon and Fork - I wrapped them with tissue and added a bubble guppies designed sticker.

Center Table - Found the birthday banner from Nick Jr Bubble Guppies Party printable.
Foods - Love the crabs, crablets, fishes, shrimps and many more sea foods.

Photobooth

I also made this layout. I cut the faces of Oona and Goby so guests will just insert their faces and take pictures.

My daughter really loves Bubble Guppies so am I. :)

Red and Pink Theme

I made this invitation last year for my baby's First Birthday. For the background I added vertical peach bars on top of Cream layout then added stars. Took a crown from the internet and added a ribbon I made using word doc at the bottom. I chose different font styles.
